Actor and businessman Suniel Shetty took the stage at the Moneycontrol Creator Economy Summit, where he shared insights into his acting career, business ventures, and even disclosed his favourite cricketer.
In a candid confession, Shetty expressed his admiration for former captain Virat Kohli, stating, "My favourite cricketer in today's time is definitely Virat Kohli." On why son-in-law KL Rahul didn’t bag the top spot, the Main Hoon Na actor said: "KL is my son. When it's family, you don't talk about family." Shetty highlighted Kohli's exceptional skills in chasing targets, making him a master in the field.
“Even though we are chasing and Virat is batting, that's not happening, so it's Virat for sure,” Shetty said calling Kohli the “master or chasing”.
Shetty’s daughter, Athiya, is married to cricketer KL Rahul. He also said that his dream of playing for India has been fulfilled by Rahul.
"I wanted to play for the country. That is being manifested through my son in law (KL Rahul)."
During his appearance, Shetty also discussed his foray into the food and beverage industry but admitted that all his restaurants have closed down due to his inability to dedicate the necessary focus to the business. “It’s very dependent on the chef, or the masters who run it on a day to day basis,” he said.
Shetty did not shy away from discussing the failures in his film career, maintaining that he has learned to accept these setbacks gracefully. He stated, "I am comfortable in my own skin," and credited his family for their unwavering support throughout his journey.
