Axar Patel's World Cup dream came true on Tuesday as he was named in India's 15-man squad for their title defence in Australia and New Zealand in February-March this year, while Yuvraj Singh was overlooked and Ravindra Jadeja was selected pending fitness from his shoulder injury.Yuvraj, who was considered to have an outside chance, can now only make it to the squad if Jadeja remains unfit, in which case the BCCI will have the opportunity to exercise ICC's World Cup regulations of asking for a replacement due to injury. But as of now, his World Cup is over.Jadeja, who is currently undergoing recuperation, is expected to be fit before India's first match against archrivals Pakistan on February 15. Jadeja, along with Ishant Sharma, however has been advised to play as less as possible to get fully fit before the tournament starts on February 14.Meanwhile, Stuart Binny too got the selectors' nod despite not being consistent in run-up to the selection today. He has been picked as a medium-pace allrounder. Also making the cut is Ambati Rayudu, who has been rewarded for his good show in the middle order.Varun Aaron is the only player who can consider himself unlucky as he had worked hard to get back into the Indian team. Ishant Sharma, Mohammad Shami, Umesh Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are the four pacers selected.Robin Uthappa, whose name was also doing the rounds, also didn't get selected in the final 15. Rest of the squad was on the expected lines, with most players picking themselves. The squad includes four fast bowlers, three spinners (including Axar and Jadeja as spin-bowling allrounders), seven batsmen and one seam-up allrounder. Skipper Dhoni is the only wicketkeeper in the squad.India squad for World Cup: MS Dhoni (C), Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Axar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Mohammad Shami, Stuart Binny, Umesh Yadav.
