A group of women were slammed on the internet and accused of creating a public nuisance after a video of them singing aboard a Vande Bharat Express surfaced online. The clip went viral after it was shared on X by Southern Railway’s official handle and amassed close to five lakh views.
The now-viral video featured around 12 women crooning a song while travelling onboard the Chennai to Mysuru Vande Bharat Express. The Southern Railway described the sight as a “symphony of joy” but social media users were not very impressed and termed it as “irritating”.
“A symphony of joy aboard the #Chennai - #Mysuru Vande Bharat Express! Witness the enchanting moments as these young ladies turn their journey into a delightful musical escapade with their sweet songs,” read the caption of the post.

The video, shared on Tuesday, swiftly gained traction on the internet. Social media users, however, were not happy and heavily criticised the women for disturbing other passengers.
“Honestly irritating, they can wear headphones and listen to their song, or may be get down and do group activities. If I am paying a premium to travel, I need a good and comfortable sleep, streaming music of my personal choice through headphones. Don’t make this a new normal,” one user wrote.
Another user questioned, “How much extra do I have to pay to shut up such passengers creating public nuisance? Are you encouraging this behaviour? What if somebody just wants to sleep in this modern, silent-operation train?”
“It is not symphony. Its noise to fellow passengers who did not pay to get into this chaotic circus,” a third user commented.
“Please stop promoting these things because already there is a big nuisance of influencers/vloggers/loud sound from phones in trains spoiling the peaceful travel,” a fourth user remarked.
Another user added, "I think railways should stop such noise inside. Why would people prefer noisy trains? People want to travel in peace on the general trains. Specific tour compartments booked by a group may enjoy these NOT others. @AshwiniVaishnaw I think these are not to be encouraged."
