A Mumbai-based healthcare CEO has shared a touching memory of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, recalling the late star's unexpected offer to support his startup. Shikhar Agrawal wrote an emotional post on LinkedIn to mark five years of Rajput's death and to highlight his generous spirit.
The IIT Bombay alumnus remembered how six years ago, he and his team were building a startup, dreaming of making ambulances as easy to access as an Uber cab. They got their chance to pitch their idea to Rajput when he was at IIT Bombay for his film Chhichhore's shoot. "He loved it," Agrawal wrote, explaining that Rajput then invited them to his home: "Come over. Tell me everything properly."
During their visit, Agrawal said Rajput showed a rare kind of attentiveness. "He listened like very few people do," he shared, adding that the actor "asked questions about tech, dispatch, scale, everything." The conversation took a surprising turn when Rajput made a significant offer: "I don’t actively invest… but I want to be the face of this. you’re solving something real. I want to help." Agrawal couldn't believe Rajput's willingness to support "2nd year students" so readily, putting it down to the actor's compassionate heart: "because he had that kind of heart."
Agrawal's post reflected on that day, recalling the look in Rajput's eyes "when he talked about science, startups, space, helping people," and "how much he wanted to give." The Mumbai CEO then expressed his deep sadness, thinking about "how someone like that, so full of wonder, just didn’t make it." He concluded his tribute with a message: "Sometimes, you really don’t see the light you bring to the world. but that doesn’t mean it’s not there. If you ever forget it — don’t quit. Don’t disappear. Just hold on. because the world needs more of that light. Not less."
Sushant Singh Rajput, who was reportedly suffering from depression, died by suicide on June 14, leaving no note behind. His death sent shockwaves across the country.
