The countdown for the much-awaited fashion event of the year has finally begun. The 71st Miss World pageant is all set to take place in India after a gap of 28 years. The events will begin on February 18 and will go on till March 9, which will be the grand finale. The opening ceremony will be held on February 20.
When and where to watch Miss World 2024?
The opening ceremony of Miss World 2024 will be broadcast live on missworld.com. ‘The Opening Ceremony’ and ‘India Welcomes the World Gala’ is going to be hosted by the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) at The Ashok in New Delhi and the ceremony will start 8 pm onwards. The participants will also visit New Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam.
The highly-anticipated grand finale of the pageant will be organised at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai on March 9. 120 contestants from all over the world will be competing for the coveted title of Miss World.
India will be represented by Sini Shetty. The 22-year-old is the winner of Miss India World 2022 and is also a finance graduate.
Former Miss World Manushi Chhillar also expressed her excitement about the Miss World pageant being held in India after so long. Talking to ANI, she said, "I'm simply excited, and it's wonderful that so many girls will come to India and talk about it and experience our hospitality, just as India will also get to experience what I did six years ago when I attended a competition like this. They will be posting about their experiences on their social media handles. They have a great fan following so those people will also come to know about it. Their families and team will also be coming. So, there will be exposure at the same time for many countries."
Meanwhile, Archana Kochhar was named the official designer of the 71st Miss World pageant.
