As Mahajan’s post gained traction online, LinkedIn user Apurb Singh identified the crew member as Khushbu Singh.

A routine IndiGo flight from Pune to Delhi on January 12 turned into an extraordinary display of courage and quick thinking when a cabin crew member saved an elderly passenger in distress. The incident, shared in a heartfelt LinkedIn post by Sanchit Mahajan, co-founder of Spotlight Scouts & Orion Hostels, highlighted the heroics of the unnamed crew member whose timely intervention averted a potential tragedy.

The episode unfolded mid-flight when a senior passenger, believed to be in his 70s, began losing consciousness. With no medical professionals onboard to provide assistance, the situation quickly became tense. However, one cabin crew member rose to the challenge, remaining calm under pressure and acting decisively.

According to Mahajan, the crew member supported the passenger’s neck, administered oxygen, and worked tirelessly for 30-40 minutes to stabilise him. Her efforts eventually helped the passenger regain consciousness.

“Her actions were nothing short of inspiring,” wrote Mahajan. He noted the emotional toll the incident had taken on the crew member, observing her in tears after ensuring the passenger’s safety.

Mahajan expressed disappointment that many passengers did not adequately recognise the crew member’s heroic actions. He personally thanked her before deboarding, calling her a “true hero” and praising IndiGo for fostering such a compassionate and capable team.

Mahajan urged IndiGo to officially honour the crew’s dedication. The airline responded to his post, expressing gratitude for his acknowledgment and committing to recognising the crew’s efforts.

As Mahajan’s post gained traction online, LinkedIn user Apurb Singh identified the crew member as Khushbu Singh, a Kolkata-based IndiGo employee. While Singh is not active on LinkedIn, messages of appreciation poured in for her through her friends.

“IndiGo, let us appreciate this super lady for her heroic efforts and give her the due credit,” wrote Singh.

Meanwhile, Indigo also replied to Mahajan's post and wrote, "Thank you for sharing this incredible experience, Mr Mahajan. Stories like these inspire us to continue fostering a compassionate and supportive environment onboard. Your kind acknowledgment of our team’s efforts means the world to us, and we’ll ensure they are recognized for their dedication. We look forward to serving you again with the same commitment and care."
