Fashion is all around us but sometimes it fails to impress masses and even baffles them to some extent. Something similar happened when luxury brand Louis Vuitton launched a pair of boots that looked like a woman’s leg. The boots were dyed to mimic a human leg with a white socks and a black stiletto.
The “optical-illusion” knee-high boots are priced just under $2,500 (which is Rs 2,08,419 approximately). It has two skin-tone options and were described as “weird” by fashion influencer Isabelle Allain on TikTok.
According to the New York Post, Allain said that the boots have an “integrated calf”. “They were on the runway like a year ago and I knew that the second they would come out I had to get them.”

According to the French fashion brand, the “Illusion High Boot” was a key look of Louis Vuitton's Fall-Winter 2023fashion show and is a nod to the Surrealist art movement. The boot is painted by hand to create an illusion of a sock.
“This is so weird. It is almost creepy. It’s giving doll legs,” Allaine was heard saying in her clip. However, when she tried the shoes with a black mini skirt, she mentioned that they looked “cool”.
“I thought I wanted to return these boots, but now I want to keep them forever,” she added. "
Pictures of the “illusion boots” swiftly went viral online and triggered a flurry of reactions from social media users on X.
“Just ugly as sin,” a user wrote. Another user commented, “They are very creepy.”
“Please explain to me who is wearing white socks with black heels and a skirt,” a third user questioned.
“Wearing pulled up dad socks with your high heels should be prosecuted, even if it an illusion,” a fourth user remarked.
Another person added, “Absolutely ridiculous.”
