Hotel chain Hilton is encouraging jobseekers in Australia to apply for vacancies using TikTok instead of CVs and cover letters. Hilton has asked interested candidates to create 30-60 second videos in which they let the company know what position they are applying for, what location, and how they plan to make the stay memorable for Hilton guests.
The videos must be shared on the candidate’s public TikTok account with the hashtag #HireMeHilton – from where they will be assessed by the recruitment team who will then connect with shortlisted candidates. The shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview, said Hilton.
“We’re shaking up the recruitment process by launching an industry-first #HireMeHilton pilot program calling on Aussie job seekers to ditch traditional cover letters and CVs and apply for one of our open roles with a video on TikTok instead!” the hotel chain said in social media posts.
“When you need somebody who’s going to have really good interpersonal skills, to be able to handle guest relationships or any of that side of things, you’ve got no idea [if they can do that] from the paper side,” said Hogg.
