The post sparked an outpouring of reactions, with many users praising Praggnanandhaa’s cooking skills.

Indian chess prodigy R Praggnanandhaa recently stepped away from the chessboard to take on an entirely different challenge—cooking dosa. The moment, captured by his coach Ramachandran Ramesh, quickly went viral on social media, drawing both admiration and amusement.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Grandmaster Ramesh shared a photograph of Praggnanandhaa attempting to prepare dosa for the first time. In a reflection on his student’s culinary debut, Ramesh wrote: "First time R Praggnanandhaa is learning to make dosa at my cost. To be honest, he got better with each attempt."

He concluded the post with a Tamil phrase, writing: "Rendu dosa suda suda parcel," which translates to "Two hot dosas for takeaway."

The post sparked an outpouring of reactions, with many users praising Praggnanandhaa’s cooking skills and speculating on his future in the culinary world.

One user joked: "Not surprised. Expecting Aravindh to win MasterChef India at some point too."
Another user suggested that Praggnanandhaa should take his dosa-making skills global, writing: "Pragg can now start thinking about starting his dosa chain globally—Pragg Dosa and Vada LLC—with headquarters in Chennai and branches in Norway and Los Angeles."

A third user commented: "Gurudakshina."

Beyond his culinary experiment, 2025 has already been a landmark year for the 18-year-old chess prodigy. Earlier this year, Praggnanandhaa made headlines with his historic victory at the Tata Steel Masters 2025. Competing in Wijk aan Zee, Netherlands, he clinched the prestigious title in a tense tiebreak match against reigning World Champion D Gukesh.

His triumph marked a historic moment in Indian chess, making him the first Indian to claim the Tata Steel Masters title since Viswanathan Anand in 2006.
