Bengaluru man whose post on buying a laptop from Flipkart Minutes and getting it delivered within 13 minutes went viral recently was gifted a laptop bag by the e-commerce platform. Sunny R Gupta, a software developer, said that Flipkart reached out to him and offered to send him a laptop bag as a token of appreciation for all the buzz his tweet generated.
"I’m not complaining," Gupta wrote on X, adding that the viral post was not a marketing stunt or a planned promotion.
Flipkart Minutes is a recently launched quick commerce service by the e-commerce giant launched in select areas of Bengaluru this month. It aims to deliver products within minutes and has positioned itself as a competitor to existing platforms like Blinkit and Swiggy Instamart. But, it sets itself apart by offering a broader range of products, including high-end electronics, a feature not commonly available on other quick commerce platforms.
"As some of you know, I run a small meetup group called 'Impromptu BLR Meetups' here in Bengaluru. During one of our gatherings at Starbucks, I was browsing for a new Windows laptop on Amazon and Flipkart. I stumbled upon a model on Flipkart that fit my budget and requirements, and I noticed a new feature offering delivery within 15 minutes. Intrigued by this option, I decided to try it out, thinking it would be more convenient than waiting a day for a traditional delivery," Gupta said.
To his surprise, however, the laptop--an Acer Predator, which typically retails for Rs 95,000 to Rs 2.5 lakh online--arrived in just 13 minutes while he posted about it in real-time. The posts went viral overnight, garnering millions of views and attracting attention from various media outlets.

"I want to emphasise that I had no incentive to create a viral moment or engage in any marketing ploy. The posts were purely my personal experience, shared out of genuine surprise and excitement," Gupta said, adding that he has a fulfilling career in software development, and does not rely on or need to engage in marketing gimmicks for additional income.
He, however, admitted to enjoying the attention.
"Once the post became popular, Flipkart’s marketing team did offer me a laptop bag for all the buzz this ended up creating," Gupta said.
