Labour unions at Coal India have threatened to go on strike, unless their demands on bonus and ex-gratia payment are accepted. The management has said it is confident of resolving the problem without significant impact to the company's profit margins.

Perhaps, the labour unions should rope in veteran actor Shashi Kapoor to negotiate with the Coal India top brass for a speedy resolution of the issue. Here is a clip from the 1979 multi-star cast Kaala Patthar, in which Shashi Kapoor is championing the cause of coal mine workers agitating for a bonus.

And guess what, it took him under three minutes to convince the management about the miners' demand!
