Enjoy Mudra Dance Festival 2012 with exquisite Kathak, Kathakali, Odissi, Chhau and Bharatnatyam recitals


The Mudra Dance Festival 2012 is being held at NCPA, Nariman Point, Mumbai from April 9 to April 28. The annual summer event comprises of events throughout April leading up to three days of spectacular performances, in lieu of International Dance Day. The festival this year features some exquisite Kathak, Kathakali, Odissi, Chhau and Bharatnatyam recitals by noted artistes with a dance photography workshop, an ongoing dance photo exhibition, film preview, lecture demonstrations and interactive sessions. This is the fourth season of the festival. It will be inaugurated with a Kathak performance by Pandit Birju Maharaj. Highlights of the festival include Keechakavadham - a Kathakali performance by Sadanam Balakrishnan and troupe and Gatha Odissi - a performance by Aruna Mohanty and dancers of the Orissa Dance Academy troupe.
