A new movie set in New York by filmmaker and actor Edward Burns will close the Tribeca Film Festival this year, organizers said on Monday.
"Newlyweds," Burns' tenth writing and directing effort, takes a comical look at modern marriage. It will premiere on April 30, a day before the festival ends.
The cast includes Burns, 43, whose best known directorial effort was his first film, "The Brothers McMullen," and actress Caitlin Fitzgerald. It was shot in the neighborhood of Tribeca, an area badly affected by the Sept. 11 attacks that propelled actor Robert De Niro to co-found the festival.
One of the most prominent film gatherings in the United States, the festival will kick off on April 20 with a documentary about the making of Elton John's album, "The Union" the British singer made with songwriter Leon Russell.
The festival will show 93 feature films this year, about the same number as in 2010.
