Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX, delved into the age-old question that has intrigued humanity for centuries: do aliens exist beyond our pale blue dot? Musk, whose aerospace company aspires to make interplanetary living a reality, offered a glimpse into his thoughts on the subject, intertwining the quest for extraterrestrial life with his audacious ambition to transport humans to Mars.
Musk's virtual appearance at the International Astronautical Congress in Baku, Azerbaijan, was marked by a resolute declaration: "People often ask me if I've seen any evidence of aliens, and I, unfortunately, have seen no evidence of aliens yet."
"We are the aliens, as far as I can tell," Musk opined, challenging our very perception of extraterrestrial beings.
The billionaire entrepreneur continued, "And I think if anyone would know, it would probably be me, and I've not seen any evidence of aliens. So, what that perhaps suggests is that this tiny candle of consciousness that is humanity is all that exists in a vast darkness, and we should do everything we can to ensure that the candle does not go out."
This discourse is not the first time Musk has broached the subject of extraterrestrial life. During an interview with then-Fox News host Tucker Carlson in April, he shared a similar stance. However, he tantalizingly added that if concrete evidence of aliens were to emerge, he wouldn't keep it to himself.
"I'm, you know, very familiar with space stuff," he quipped, "I've seen no evidence of aliens. I would immediately tweet it out. That'd be probably the top tweet of all time. 'We found one, guys!' It's the jackpot with some 8 billion likes."
Musk also recently took to Twitter to assert, "I keep telling people I'm an alien, but no one believes me."
His assertions, though unconventional, raises intriguing questions about the definition of 'alien' and our place in the cosmos.
