Data Privacy Bill roll back: What was the Bill all about? Why was it withdrawn? | Trends

The Indian government on Wednesday rolled back the Data Protection Bill, which was first introduced in 2019 and had been in the works since 2018. IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that after much deliberations by the Joint Committee of Parliament, there were 81 amendments and 12 recommendations.
