The massive traffic congestion at Bengaluru's Outer Ring Road on Wednesday prompted people to take to social media to vent their frustrations with many claiming that it has been taking them two hours to move 500 metres. It also affected fans of Emmy-winning US comedian Trevor Noah who was scheduled to perform at Manpho Conventional Centre in Manyata Tech Park at 7.30 pm as part of this Off The Record world tour.
Several of them took to X, formerly Twitter, urgently trying to sell their tickets at a discount after they realised that they would not be able to make it to the venue on time because of the congestion.

A few fans even hoped that even Trevor Noah would get caught in traffic so that he could begin his set late.

Even The News Minute editor Dhanya Rajendran hoped Noah was running late. "Hello Trevor Noah, please be 20 minutes late," she posted on X, tagging the comedian.
Meanwhile, Bengaluru's Deputy Commissioner of Police-West (Traffic) Kuldeep Kumar R Jain, wrote on Twitter (formerly X), "There is a huge traffic pile-up on ORR from Marathahalli to Sarjapur. Please instruct ITBT companies located on ORR not to rush out as there is a massive jam due to invariably high number of vehicles."
HAL airport officials said that the traffic volume is exceptionally high due to upcoming holidays.
According to the city police, a large number of people are leaving the city ahead of the extended holiday period. September 28 is a holiday for Eid Milad-Un Nabi, many pro-Kannada organisations called for the Cauvery bandh on September 29, followed by the weekend, and October 2 marks Gandhi Jayanti.
