TikTok is reportedly working on ways to allow its creators to paywall videos and more, in a bid to increase its audience in the US.
The creators will be allowed to set their own prices for videos, and they would also be able to offer exclusive content for fans or people who subscribe to their channels.
According to The Information, TikTok is also testing an updated creator fund that is being trialed in France and Brazil.

TikTok launched the creator fund in 2020, and it is a three-year program that pays creators from a pool of $1 billion. The more popular a creator's video, the more they get paid.
Unfortunately, it also drew its fair share of criticisms, with creators claiming TikTok limits how much they earn. Some top creators claimed they earned just a few dollars for millions of views, and negligible amounts when their videos did not go viral.
With the new fund, TikTok is looking for ways to pay their creators more, including special tiers for accounts that make longer videos. The platform is also considering raising the minimum requirement to 100,000 followers per account, in order to eligible for the fund.

“We’re committed to exploring new ways to create a valuable and rewarding experience for the TikTok creator community,” TikTok spokesperson Zachary Kizer said in an email shared with The Verge.
“On TikTok, anyone can be a creator and everyone can enjoy entertainment from our inspiring creators, and we aim to continue innovating this experience so people can express themselves, find their community, and be rewarded for their creativity,” Kizer added.
