Samsung has announced January 17 as the date for its much-awaited Galaxy Unpacked event during which the South Korean electronics giant is expected to announce the next generation of Galaxy S series phones, headlined by the Galaxy S24.

The company has also begun accepting bookings. Interested buyers can visit this site and book a place by paying a sum of Rs 1,999, which is refundable, to join the queue to buy the phone. The invitations and store page carry the tagline "Galaxy AI is coming", suggesting the company will offer artificial intelligence features in the new devices.

Rumours suggest that the new smartphones may have AMOLED LTPO displays with variable refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz. The premium Ultra variants of the device could come with a 200-megapixel camera module, while the regular variants may feature 50-megapixel camera modules.

Samsung's in-house Exynos 2400 chipset could be used in every region except the US and Canada. It is likely that Samsung will stick to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset for its premium variants across all markets.
