Staffing firm Quess Corp has fully acquired gig discovery platform Taskmo for an undisclosed amount, after the latter's founders Prashant Janadri and Naveen Ram exited.
Taskmo, founded in 2020, connects businesses with on-demand talent for various tasks and projects. Taskmo raised its first round of funding of $1.4 million with Quess in 2021, followed by equity and debt rounds.
"Taskmo has seen hyper growth of 20X in the last 2 financial years as it filed around 1Cr to 20Cr in revenue for FY21 and FY23 respectively," Taskmo said in a release.
Taskmo has been working with marquee companies like Jiomart, Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho, Zomato, Rapido, Uber, Ola, HDFC, Swiggy and many more.
Taskmo will continue to operate independently under the Quess Corp umbrella, providing solutions for the gig economy. "The acquisition is expected to further strengthen Taskmo's position in the market and accelerate its growth trajectory," it said in the release.
"For the past 3-4 years, we worked tirelessly in creating social impact through earning opportunities for gig workers and building gig culture in India," Prashant Janadri, cofounder and CEO, Taskmo, was quoted as saying in the release.
Taskmo uses artificial intelligence and a unique algorithm to help gig workers find both hyperlocal and digital tasks on their platform. Its tech stack provides real-time visibility for businesses to track tasks and enables trained gig workers to find work nearby.
