The wraps are off the S201 compact SUV that Mahindra has been working on. Designed around the Ssangyong Tivoli, the company has christened the SUV the XUV300.
The XUV300 takes a very minimal approach to the design. The exterior is not as bulky looking as the XUV500 but still manages to hold on to a muscular stature. Mahindra says that the wheel arches are inspired from the muscular haunches of a cheetah and the headlamp integrated with the foglamps forms a cheetah-like tear-duct.

While engine specifications still remain a secret, we expect the XUV300 to be launched in both a petrol and a diesel variant mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. An automatic gearbox option is expected to be launched at a later date.
The XUV300 is also expected to get some class-leading features like a sunroof, dual-zone climate control, a large touchscreen infotainment system, disc brakes on all four wheels and seven airbags. The higher variants of the SUV will get HID headlamps and LED DRLs and tail lamps. 17-inch diamond cut rims are also expected on the higher variants.

Mahindra says that the XUV300 will be manufactured at their Nasik facility and will be launched in the first half of February, 2019. Price details are also yet to be announced.
