Air India has changed its social media display pictures to black colour, following the tragic Kozhikode plane crash.
Social media display pictures of Air India Express — the Air India subsidiary involved in the crash — has also been changed to a black-colour profile photo.
The Air India Express flight IX 1344 from Dubai to Kozhikode crashed after it overshot the runway while landing at the Karipur Airport in Kerala at 7.41 pm on August 7. The Vande Bharat Mission flight had 190 people on board-- 184 passengers, two pilots and four cabin crew members. As many as 18 people died in the crash, including both pilots.

Following the incident, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued a statement saying that on landing, the aircraft skidded to "the end of the runway and fell down in the valley and broke down in two pieces.
Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri is currently on-ground to take stock of the status and implementation of relief measures at Kozhikode. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will also be visiting Kozhikode on August 8.
