Snapdeal-owned Unicommerce, a SaaS platform, has appointed former SoftBank India head Manoj Kohli, Jyoth Labs’ Ullas Kamath and Sairee Chahal, founder and CEO of Sheroes, as independent directors to its board. Snapdeal’s Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal have also been appointed as non-executive directors to the board, the company said on December 20.
The Gurugram-based company, established in 2012 and acquired by Snapdeal in 2015, enables end-to-end management of e-commerce operations for D2C brands, retail companies, and other online sellers through its comprehensive suite of SaaS-based technology products.
These appointments come at a time when Unicommerce said it is preparing for a public listing in 2024. The company ended FY23 with a profit of Rs 8 crore, growing 8 percent year-on-year (YoY). Its revenues during the same period increased 53 percent to Rs 90 crore.
The company is on track to clock Rs 120-150 crore in revenue in the current fiscal, as reported earlier.
"Welcoming Sairee Chahal, Manoj Kohli, and Ullas Kamath, along with Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal, to the Unicommerce board is a momentous occasion for us. The depth and diversity of their expertise aligns seamlessly with our vision of anticipating and serving the evolving technology needs of our customers both in India and in other countries,” said Kapil Makhija, MD & CEO of Unicommerce.
Kohli, formerly MD and CEO of Bharti Airtel, has been expanding his scope of work and was also appointed to the board of beer company, Bira91, recently.
Unicommerce also counts e-commerce retailers like Myntra and Lenskart, beauty & personal care brands like MamaEarth, Sugar, MCaffeine, fashion brands like TCNS (W, Aurelia), Jack & Jones, Vero Moda), electronics brands like Boat and large FMCG players such as Marico and Emami as its clients.
