The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro boasts of a massive 8.03-inch primary display and includes a 64MP periscope telephone cam with 3x optical zoom.

The OnePlus Open has quickly carved a niche in the ‘book-type’ foldable smartphone segment. This space was dominated by Samsung with it’s Galaxy Fold series. The other player in India is Tecno that is also the most affordable book-type foldable in India now. A report in 91 Mobiles suggests that Vivo might make its foldable debut in India soon. The company is expected to launch its all-new Vivo X Fold 3 foldable that has just been unveiled in China this week. The company launched two devices as part of this series – the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro and Vivo X Fold 3:

The Vivo X Fold 3 will be a game changer. The Vivo X Fold 3 will be a game changer.

The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro: is the premium device in this duo and boasts of a massive 8.03-inch primary display (2200 x 2480 pixels / 413 PPI) with a 120Hz refresh rate that peaks at an impressive 4500 nits. One of our favourite features of the OnePlus Open is its large, functional cover display. The X Fold 3 also offers a large 6.53-inch cover display (1172 x 2748 pixels) with a 120Hz refresh rate that peaks at 4500 nits. At its heart is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The device goes all the way to 1TB of internal storage and 16GB of RAM. Photography has been one of the weak links for foldables (compared to top-of-the line flagships with formidable cameras). This one comes with a triple rear cam that rides on Vivo’s partnership with Zeiss. It also includes a 64MP periscope telephone cam with 3x optical zoom.

The Vivo X Fold 3: could be a game changer for the book type foldable segment. The highlight is it’s slim for factor; at 219 gm it will be the lightest in its segment should it arrive in India. While the cheaper X Fold 3 (launched at a starting price of approximately Rs 80,000. The X Fold 3 Pro starts at roughly Rs 1.16 lakh in China) shares the same display specs as its pricier sibling, it comes with a slightly slimmer battery (5500 mAh battery). The camera specs are slightly different (although both devices come with Zeiss optics) and it comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Both devices offer wireless charging and come with a similar, elegant design.

It will be interesting to see if Vivo unleashes the X Fold 3 series in India. Stay tuned.
