BlackBerry is not easily giving away its dream of staying in the smartphone market, even if it takes the company to come out with another Android powered device.
After releasing its first Android-powered Priv smartphone, the Canada-based smartphone manufacturer is determined to bring not one but two new mid-range smartphones that run on Google's platform.
BlackBerry CEO John Chen said that the company will launch two mid-range Android handsets in 2016, one with a physical keyboard and the other with a full touchscreen, ZDNet reports.
It is still unclear when these two handsets will be launched. However, what is worth noting is that despite Priv failing to generate the expected buzz among consumers, BlackBerry's move to become an Android OEM is still intact.
Priced at USD 700, the Priv is the first BlackBerry device to run Android, instead of just some of its apps. Chen admitted that the Priv was 'too high-end a product', and that enterprise customers are more keen to purchase a device priced somewhere around USD 400.
