MacBook Air M2 is 11.3 mm thick, and weighs 1.24 kg, making it one of the lightest laptops right now. The 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display peaks at 500 nits.

Apple has just unveiled the MacBook Air with the all-new M3 chip. According to Apple, the M3 chip makes the newest MacBook Air up to 60 percent faster than the model with the M1 chip. That’s not the only significant announcement Apple made on March 4, 2024. The company has also announced a Rs 20,000 price cut on the MacBook Air M2 that first debuted in 2022. The MacBook Air M2 now starts at Rs 99,000, down from Rs 1,19,900. If you’re a student or a teacher, you can buy it for Rs 89,900 from Apple’s official channels as part of its education offer. The MacBook Air M2 is still a very compelling and future-proof buy in 2024. Here's why:

1. Clean lines: The 2022 Air is probably the biggest rejig of the MacBook Air since the carefully orchestrated photo opp that saw Steve Jobs pull out the first Apple MacBook Air out of an envelope back in 2008. Apple made a departure from the wedge-shaped design template that’s defined the MacBook Air almost since its 2008 launch. The 2022 MacBook Air is incredibly thin – just 11.3 mm. At 1.24 kg, this is one of the lightest laptops your money can buy.

2. Binge proof: The 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display peaks at 500 nits ensuring you have great visibility even if you’re working at an outdoor café. There’s an iPhone style display notch that you might love or loathe.

3. Look under the hood: At its heart is the M2 chip is one of the talking points of the new MacBook Air. Apple claims that the M2 chips features a more powerful 8-core CPU and up to 10-core GPU for faster performance. It’s a big leap over the M1 with 18 percent better multi-core performance and 35 percent faster graphics. It keeps things incredibly zippy whether you’re multi-tasking or gaming or doing basic video editing.

4. MagSafe charging: returns to the MacBook Air and it’s super convenient. We’d recommend paying a small premium for the faster 67W MagSafe charger. This fast charger takes the laptop from 0 to 50 percent in just 30 minutes. Battery life is quite incredible. Apple claims it can stretch up to 18 hours.

The Apple MacBook Air (2022) M2 is a great buy at its new sticker price and comes in Midnight, Starlight, Silver and Space Grey.
