A new sequel to the Metal Gear Solid franchise has been announced by Hideo Kojima in a closed event in Tokyo, according to Gaming Bolt. The event was under a press embargo, meaning people weren’t allowed to leak information of the event. Despite the embargo, many people started tweeting about the new game, titled Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes.Another thing that leaked out along with the tweets was a screenshot of the game with the protagonist, presumably Big Boss (a.k.a. Naked Snake), standing in the rain, courtesy of Famitsu. According to the tweets, the game will be set in an open world; it will have real time cutscenes and a character named Snake will be returning – though it is unknown which Snake exactly: Solid, Liquid, Solidus or Naked Snake. Judging by the screenshot, it looks like the current generation of consoles will have a hard time running the game, so it could be slated for a release on the next-gen consoles.
