Apple update allows Siri to be legally ported to iPhone 4

Probably the most interesting feature of the iPhone 4S; apart from its amazing camera capabilities, is Siri. The voice recognition assistant is what sets Apple’s smartphone apart from its predecessors. Ever since it was launched, many hackers and jailbreakers have been trying to get it to work on other iOS devices. As reported back in November, Siri had been hacked to make it compatible with other devices, including those running on the Android OS. However these hacks and public distribution of the system files are illegal. According to a report by Cult of Mac, with the latest update of iOS 5.0.1, Apple has made it possible to port Siri legally by presenting access to file systems that were previously encrypted.
