LG Optimus 2X to get ICS update in Korea

Last year, LG announced the Optimus 2X and it even earned a place in the Guinness World Records as the world’s first Dual Core Smartphone to officially make it to shelves for the general public. Since then, owners of the smartphone have been left in the dark whether their devices will be treated with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The latest bit of information, should please Korean users as LG has tweeted that the LG Optimus 2X will receive the Ice Cream Sandwich update.According to a report by GSMArena, “LG Optimus 2X users must be getting sea sick of all the back and forth - LG committed to upgrading its former flagship to Android 4.0 ICS nearly a year ago, then there was a delay and then LG Canada tweeted that the update just won't happen.” It goes on to state that it could be just the Canadian users of the smartphone who would not receive the update. With this tweet by LG, we know that at least in Korea, the Optimus 2X users will receive an upgrade to Android 4.0.
