Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) today launched a BS-IV compliant version of its bike CB Unicorn 160, priced at Rs 73,552 (ex-showroom Delhi).
In spite of an over 24 percent fall in December sales due to the note-ban impact, the second largest two-wheeler-maker Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has closed 2016 with best-ever numbers selling close to 5 million units.
The plant, located in Ahmedabad district's Mandal taluk, has seen investments of Rs 1,100 crore from the Japanese company and a similar amount from 22 vendors.
"With India having the world's youngest population, it is imperative for Honda to connect with youth. NAVI will take forward Honda's fun DNA in India," HMSI Senior Vice-President Sales and Marketing YS Guleria said.
HMSI's retail sales breached the 56,000 mark, up 40 percent over the same day last year while Tata Motors said it delivered 1,100 cars in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh on Ganesh Chaturthi this year
