Dutt has been transferred to the Ministry of Coal as Secretary.
Vikram Dev Dutt will take over as the head of the aviation sector regulator on February 28, upon the superannuation of incumbent DGCA chief Arun Kumar.
Prior to this, Dutt was in-charge of Air India as a CMD till the airline was handed over to the Tata Group.
Dutt has also served as principal secretary for finance in the government of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the secretary of tourism in the government of Goa, and the managing director of India Tourism Development Corporation.
Prior to this, Dutt was appointed as Principal Secretary for the Health and Family Welfare Department of the Delhi government in June 2020.
