Govt transfers DGCA Director General Vikram Dev Dutt amid rising bomb threats

Government transferred Director General of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Vikram Dev Dutt, amid rising bomb threats.

Dutt has been transferred to the Ministry of Coal as Secretary. A new DG will be assigned next week.

Dutt is a 1993 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Dutt, Director General of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), as secretary, Ministry of Coal, according to a Personnel Ministry order.

Dutt, in 2020, assumed the charge of Delhi's Health and Family Welfare Department as principal secretary to push government's measures to contain the COVID-19 cases in the national capital.
