Enforcement Directorate (ED) said in the Rouse Avenue Court that Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal told the central agency that excise policy scam accused Vijay Nair reported to minister Atishi. According to the agency, Kejriwal also named Saurabh Bhardwaj while being questioned in connection with the case. Nair was previously the chief of AAP’s media communication cell.

Earlier, Justice Yashwant Varma had directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to place before the court all press communications and releases put out by them in relation to the probe.
In July this year, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government withdrew the policy after Delhi lieutenant governor V K Saxena recommended a CBI probe into the alleged irregularities.
According to CBI sources, his name appeared after his alleged role in “cartelisation" and “conspiracy with chosen licensees" related to alleged irregularities in the allocation of a liquor license in the national capital. He was arrested after “failing to co-operate" with interrogators.
The CBI had filed a case against alleged corruption in the 2021-22 excise policy. The policy was subsequently withdrawn by the AAP government
