The newly commissioned substation will benefit over 45,000 customers living in the DDA constructed flats in pockets IV and V, G-8 Narela Sub City and adjoining areas.
Nokia has provided Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd (Tata Power-DDL) with Internet-protocol/multiprotocol label switching network to support the management of its electrical grids in North and North-West Delhi.
The company plans to set up these charging stations at various locations in North and North-West Delhi and is already in discussions with Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for space.

"The move comes as a part of MobiKwik's expansion plan to set up a national base for utility payments," the company said in a statement.
Richard Verma, accompanied by other dignitaries, visited Tata Power Delhi Distribution's Smart Grid Lab in Rohini and Tata Power DDL's grid connected 225 KW Solar Power Plant in the vicinity.
The focus of the lab will be towards demonstration of new technologies, products and operations for different organisations and institutions, including utilities, the company said in a statement.
"TPDDL was awarded for taking innovative and positive steps to promote sustainable development of solar rooftop projects in Delhi and for the initiatives taken to encourage rooftop solar projects as a utility," an official statement said.
