Bigg Boss Season 18 premiered on October 6, hosted by the famous actor Salman Khan. This season features many celebrities, but one contestant stands out for his controversial reputation: Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga. He is a leader in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and known for his bold and often provocative statements on social media.
Most experts interviewed by Moneycontrol said the Punjab Police, in Bagga’s case, bypassed the set procedures of police action. Before arresting a suspect outside the state, they said, it is necessary for the police to register a report in a local police station
The subversion of the police force by the political establishment is an old malaise. A new trend that seems to be emerging is slapping charges of sedition at the slightest provocation
The reports comes a day after Bagga, who was arrested by Punjab Police, was brought back to Delhi.
On Friday, the Punjab Police arrested Bagga from his residence in Delhi's Janakpuri, but the city police here brought him back to the capital from Haryana, saying its Punjab counterpart did not inform it about the arrest.
Though AAP chief spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj referred to the clashes in Patiala on April 29, the Punjab Police said it arrested the Delhi BJP spokesperson from his residence in the national capital in connection with a case registered in Mohali on April 1.
