The Central government has stated it will provide 75 lakh new gas connections free of cost, in order to clear applications linked to the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), taking the total count of PMUY beneficiaries to 10.35 crore
Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said the ambitious scheme to give 5 crore women free LPG in next three years was launched in May this year. The total outlay for the scheme is Rs 8,000 crore.
The Cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved Pradhan Mantri Ujwala Yojana with an outlay of Rs 8,000 crore for three years, Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan told PTI here.
