Two noted German heavyweights Mercedes-Benz E Class and BMW 5 Series will take on each other in the mid-luxury sedan segment in the coming weeks.
The deliveries of the new XF will begin from the month-end, the company said in a statement here. This marks the first JLR model entry in the country with this new powertrain.
"The ratings reflect our expectation that JLR Automotive Plc will continue to maintain sound profitability and a strong financial profile, despite a period of heavy investment to become a higher-volume premium manufacturer," Fitch Ratings said in a statement issued from Singapore.
The new variant, XF Aero-sport, comes with a 2.2 litre diesel engine and offers a range of exterior upgrades, JLR said in a statement. "Jaguar XF is known for its dynamic design, impeccable performance, refined drive and effortless power.
Chinese market contributes 40 percent to JLR (the UK subsidiary of Tata Motors) sales. JLR had reported strong 17 percent volume growth over past 6 months in China.
The Executive Edition of Jaguar XF is powered by a 2.2 litre diesel engine and comes with a range of features including eight speed automatic transmission and navigation system.
While Jaguar sales 36 percent year-on-year in May at 6,174 units, Land Rover sales were up 8 percent to 26,303 units.
British luxury car and SUV maker Jaguar Land Rover's sales last month rose 12 percent to 28,503 units. Jaguar sold 4,711 units and Land Rover sales were at 23,792 units, the Tata Motors owned company said.
