Starting with the exterior, the Carens X-Line gets its own exclusive Matte Graphite paint scheme. This should easily help distinguish the top-spec variant from the others in the range. However, there are other changes, too. The radiator, front and rear bumper edges as well as the roof rails have all been given a glossy black finish. Next, the 16-inch wheels are the same crystal-cut alloys that you see on the other variants, but the X-Line gets a black outline and centre cap. To add a dash of contrast, the lower edge of the window line as well as the radiator garnish have been finished in chrome. The brake callipers, too, have been painted silver. (Image: Kia)

Over on the inside, much of the layout remains the same. However, the highlight is the addition of a 10.1-inch infotainment system strapped to the back of the front passenger’s seat. This unit can be controlled using a mobile app and also has screen mirroring functions as well as other news and educational apps. The interior also gets a new sage-green and black colour theme that covers the seats, speaker grille, door armrests and even the console armrest. There are also contrasting orange stitching on certain elements. The X-Line Carens is available exclusively in just the 6-seater configuration with two captain seats in the second row. Other features on the X-Line include a 10.25-inch main infotainment system, 8-speaker Bose sound system, panoramic sunroof and ventilated front seats. (Image: Kia)

Now, as we mentioned, the Caren X-Line can be had in a choice of two engine options. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol can churn out 160 hp of maximum power and 253 Nm of peak torque and comes mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The 1.5-litre diesel on the other hand is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox and produces 116 hp of maximum power and 250 Nm of peak torque. Commenting on the launch, Myung-sik Sohn, chief sales and business officer, Kia India, said, “X-Line’s popularity among new-age consumers has elevated it to the next level. We are seeing a lot of new-age buyers considering distinctive and exclusive products while making purchasing decisions, so we decided to extend this trim to our India Car of the Year—Kia Carens. We already have a growing Carens family of 100,000 customers, and the X-Line will significantly expand it.” (Image: Kia)
