Women, farmers, youth top agenda as PM Modi takes first decisions in new PMO

In his first set of decisions after shifting to his new office inside the Seva Teerth complex, Prime Minister Narendra Modi signed important files relating to decisions that impact different sections of the society including farmers, youth, women and vulnerable citizens.

After moving to his new address on Friday, the Prime Minister approved the launch of RAHAT scheme, doubled the target of lakhpati didis, and increased the outlay of the agriculture infrastructure fund.

PM RAHAT Scheme

The Prime Minister approved the launch of the PM RAHAT scheme. Under this initiative, accident victims will get cashless treatment of up to Rs 1.5 lakh, ensuring that no life is lost due to a lack of immediate medical help.

Doubling of target of lakhpati didis to 6 crore

The Prime Minister has set a new, ambitious target of 6 crore lakhpati didis by March 2029, doubling both scale and aspiration. This came after the government crossed the landmark of 3 crore lakhpati didis, more than a year ahead of the original March 2027 timeline.

Agriculture Infrastructure Fund doubled

In a move aimed at strengthening India’s entire agriculture value chain, PM Modi approved doubling the outlay of the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund from Rs 1 lakh crore to Rs 2 lakh crore.

Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0 

To power India’s innovation ecosystem, especially in deep tech, early-stage ideas, advanced manufacturing and breakthrough technologies, the PM has approved the Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0 with a corpus of Rs 10,000 crore.

PM Modi inaugurates new PMO

Earlier today, PM Modi inaugurated the Seva Teerth complex, which houses the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the National Security Council Secretariat and the Cabinet Secretariat.

The PMO will shift from the South Block on Raisina Hill to Seva Teerth, bringing together the offices of the Cabinet Secretariat and the National Security Council Secretariat that were located at different places.
