A 32-year-old man and his 26-year-old girlfriend were discovered dead inside a locked vehicle in Sector 107 of Noida on Saturday, in what police suspect to be a case of murder followed by suicide.

The car was found parked along Dadri Road near Pillar No. 84 under the jurisdiction of Sector 39 police station. Authorities said they received information about a suspicious vehicle bearing registration number DL14CL6473, after which a police team rushed to the location.

Upon inspection, officers found the bodies of a man and a woman inside the vehicle. Both had sustained gunshot injuries to their heads. A pistol was recovered from the man’s hand, and the car was locked from the inside.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Noida) Manisha Singh told PTI, "A boy and a girl were found inside the car with gunshot wounds to their heads. A pistol was found in the boy's hand, and the car was locked from the inside. Prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide."

However, preliminary findings suggest the man may have first shot the woman before shooting himself. Investigators are examining all possible aspects, including the nature of the relationship between the two and the circumstances leading up to the incident.

The deceased were identified as Sumit, 32, a resident of Trilokpuri in Delhi, and Rekha, 26, who lived in Salarpur in Sector 101, Noida. Police said their families have been informed.

Senior officers, along with a forensic team, examined the crime scene and gathered evidence. An inquest was conducted at the site, and the bodies were later sent for post-mortem to determine the exact sequence of events and confirm the cause of death.

Police said the situation in the area remained normal following the incident. Further legal proceedings are underway as officials continue their probe into the case.
