Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday claimed that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is investigating the Pahalgam terror attack and said that those responsible for the murders have been identified and will not be spared.
Sinha took part in the 'Jammu-Kashmir March Towards Peace' programme and inaugurated the Gandhi Committee Art Gallery on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, LG Sinha said, "The brutal murder of 26 innocent civilians took place on April 22 in Pahalgam. These ruthless murders were committed by Pakistan and its terrorists. Those responsible have been clearly identified. The NIA is investigating. Their pictures and names have been made public through the media. I can say that their lives will not be long. In the last five years, no major commander of any organisation has been spared. They, too, will face the same fate."
Further discussing the success of Operation Sindoor, Sinha said that India has shown the world that anybody who threatens it will not be spared. "The Indian army does not need to provide any evidence. Pakistan made many claims but could not present any proof to the world. The most important change is that the indigenous equipment used by the Indian Army and the strength they displayed deserve praise," he stated.
The J&K LG also inaugurated the Gandhi Committee Art Gallery and paid his respects. "Today, I have the honour of opening the Gandhi Committee Art Gallery. I consider Bapu a revolutionary, a great soul, and believe his philosophy is timeless. Jammu-Kashmir and Bapu shared a very close and profound connection," he said.
In his address, the Lieutenant Governor also highlighted the transformation across various sectors in Jammu and Kashmir under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
He stated that the post-abrogation era of Article 370 marks a defining moment in Jammu and Kashmir’s history. "The Union Territory has achieved significant milestones over the past few years, establishing new paradigms for inclusive development. Our economy has doubled in the last five years," added the Lieutenant Governor.
