The Nelamangala accident in Bengaluru claimed six lives, including Chandram Yegapagol, a 46-year-old tech CEO, his wife Gurabai, sister-in-law Vijayalaxmi, two children, and a niece. The accident occurred on the National Highway when an Eicher truck carrying heavy aluminum pillars lost control while avoiding another vehicle. The truck crossed the median, overturned, and crushed a Volvo car heading towards Tumakuru. The car was severely damaged, and the tragic incident was captured on CCTV, which police are analyzing as part of their investigation.
Chandram Yegapagol was the CEO and managing director of IAST Software Solutions, a company he founded in Bengaluru in 2018. With a background in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from NIT Karnataka and GPT Gulbarga, Yegapagol had held senior roles at Robert Bosch, KPIT Technologies, and Great Wall Motor in China before establishing his firm. Under his leadership, IAST Software Solutions grew into a global organization with over 100 engineers, a subsidiary in Shanghai, and partnerships in France and Japan.
Originally from Maharashtra’s Sangli district, Yegapagol had recently expanded his company’s operations to Pune. The accident has left his family and colleagues devastated as investigations continue into its cause.
