Maharaja Manujendra Shah of Tehri Garhwal is reportedly planning to sell his property on Bhagwan Das Road to a local entrepreneur with a strong presence in the food and beverage sector for around Rs 1,000 crore, The Economic Times has reported.

The property, identified as Plot No. 5, Block No. 159 on Bhagwan Das Road, is presently known as 5, Bhagwan Das Road, the report said.

Covering 3.2 acres, the bungalow will be the entrepreneur’s second marquee acquisition, having also reportedly agreed to buy the inaugural official residence of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru for over Rs 1,100 crore. The identity of the buyer has not yet been made public.

The two estates fall under the category of ‘trophy properties’ -- highly exclusive, ultra-luxury homes prized for their iconic locations and architectural distinction.

Deal in the final stages

The report by The Economic Times said the sale is close to being finalised.

Acting on behalf of the buyer, a leading law firm has issued a notice indicating interest in acquiring the property. The notice added that the title of the current owner, Maharaja Manujendra Shah, is currently being verified.

“If any person has any right or claim on the said property, they should inform us in writing with documentary proof", it said.
