Newly elected BJP National President Nitin Nabin, on Tuesday, expressed his gratitude to party workers and lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dedication to public service.
Speaking after taking charge, Nabin said, “Today, first and foremost, I express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you. You have given an ordinary worker like me the opportunity to reach this highest position in the party, and I bow before you all for this".
He further noted, "Prime Minister, I express my heartfelt gratitude to you because we, as ordinary workers, have always observed from afar how you are continuously working for the service of the nation."
Recalling an early interaction with the Prime Minister, Nabin said he first met the Prime Minister during the Sadbhavana Mission program in Anand, Gujarat, when he was National General Secretary.

"I saw him listening to every person with attention. After the program, in his green room, he spoke to us with such emotion, explaining why so many people had come. That day, I understood that a person becomes great when they connect with the emotions of the people," he said.
Amid rousing chants of "Nitin Nabin jee, aage badho", Nabin took charge as the party’s national president at the party headquarters in the national capital around noon.
Nabin said taking charge was a "moment of resolve" for him, noting that he was assuming not just a post but the responsibility of the party’s nationalist ideology and traditions.
"Today's moment is a moment of resolve for me. Today, I am not just assuming a position. I am accepting the ideology, traditions, and the responsibility of a nationalist movement of this party, and on this occasion," he stated.
Addressing party colleagues at the BJP headquarters, Nabin said he accepted the responsibility of the BJP’s movement and paid his respects to senior leaders. He noted that “140 crore Indians are connecting themselves with the dream of a developed India and working to take the country forward,” and expressed his “heartfelt gratitude” to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his leadership.
Senior party leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, outgoing BJP national president JP Nadda, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and several Union Ministers, attended the event.

The BJP’s National President election process began after 30 of the party’s 36 state presidents were elected, crossing the mandatory 50 percent threshold laid down in the party's Constitution. The election schedule and Electoral Roll were announced on January 16.
PM Modi, Home Minister Shah, Defence Minister Singh, Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Dharmendra Pradhan, Bhupendra Yadav, Kiren Rijiju and Hardeep Singh Puri, along with outgoing party president JP Nadda, were among the senior leaders who backed Nabin’s nomination.
Nabin, who had been serving as the BJP’s national working president, was elected as the party’s 12th national president after the nomination process concluded on Monday afternoon.
