PM Modi's birthday message to Mamata Banerjee: 'Pray for her good health and long life'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday extended birthday greeting to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

"Birthday wishes to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Didi. I pray for her good health and long life," he posted on X.

Born on this day in 1955, Banerjee is a three-time chief minister of West Bengal.

West Bengal's political temperature is rising ahead of the assembly polls.  The Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls has become a major point of contention between the Trinamool Congress and the BJP. Banerjee alleged a bid to delete voters, while the BJP claimed infiltrators are on the rolls.

She has linked the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) to the NRC, calling it a "backdoor entry" and warning of detention camps.
