Pakistan initiated small arms firing across LoC again, Indian Army sources said, according to news agency ANI. This is the fourth night when such firings have been initiated by the Pakistan Army. The small arms firing took place on the intervening night of April 27, 28.

Indian Army responded effectively to the LoC ceasefire violations. The ceasefire violations happened in areas opposite Kupwara and Poonch.

The unprovoked firing from Pakistan has become regular, especially after the deadly Pahalgam attack, that killed 26 civilians in Kashmir on April 22, 2025. Tensions have since then run high between the neighbouring countries.

Kulgam Police, along with the Army and the CRPF, had arrested two terrorist associates in Kashmir's Kulgam. They had also recovered a cache of arms and ammunition.

Meanwhile, in an encounter in Bandipore, a top LeT commander named Altaf Lalli was also eliminated by the Indian Army. This came days after the Pahalgam attack.
