Satellite imagery shows that Pakistan has completely demolished a building at its strategic Murid Airbase in Chakwal after Indian strikes during Operation Sindoor in May 2025 left the facility heavily damaged.

In a post on X, satellite imagery analyst Damien Symon posted an image, sourced from Vantor by NDTV, showing that the building struck by India at the airbase has been demolished.

"Imagery indicates the building struck by India during the May 2025 conflict with Pakistan at Murid Airbase has now been demolished, the strike likely caused deeper internal damage than previously assessed, leaving the building unfit for repairs," he said.

Earlier satellite images had indicated that extensive repair activity was underway at the facility.

The Indian Air Force had targeted the airbase along with ten others across Pakistan during Operation Sindoor on May 10.

Satellite pictures had earlier shown the damaged section concealed under a red tarpaulin, indicating repairwork.

An image sourced by NDTV earlier after the airstrikes revealed a munition crater at the airbase, mere 30-meters from the entrance to likely special-use underground Pakistan Airforce facility.

The Murid airbase is situated in the Chakwal district and is said to be the central hub for Pakistan’s drone warfare capabilities.

The base operates advanced UCAVs and UAVs such as the Shahpar-1 and Turkish-made Bayraktar TB2, which were used in reconnaissance and strike missions against India during the military escalation last year.

Indian military officials had described the strike on Murid as a direct retaliation for the swarm of drones launched from this base.
