Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated Nitin Nabin, who was formally declared the BJP national president at a ceremony held at the party headquarters in New Delhi.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Nitin Nabin ji on being elected as the president of the world's largest political party,” PM Modi said addressing a gathering at the BJP headquarters.
Nabin, a senior Indian politician, is a five-time member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly and former minister in the government of Bihar. He is widely recognised for his sustained organisational acumen and administrative experience.
"When it is about the party, Nitin Nabin is the boss, and I am a party worker. Now Honourable Nitin Nabin ji is the president of all of us, and his responsibility is not just to manage the BJP, but also to ensure coordination among all NDA allies," the Prime Minister said.
Highlighting the importance of the coming decades, PM Modi said, "The next 25 years are very important. This is the period when a developed India is to be built, and it is destined to happen."
He expressed confidence that Nabin would carry forward the party's legacy, adding, "At the beginning of this crucial period, our Nitin Nabin ji will carry forward the legacy of the BJP."
The Prime Minister further expressed pride as a BJP worker, saying, "People might think that Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister of the country, that he became Prime Minister for the third time and chief minister at the young age of 50, and has been the head of the government continuously for 25 years. All of that is true, but there is something even bigger than all of this in my life. I am a BJP worker. That is my greatest pride."
Modi said Nabin belongs to an era in which, people heard the news on the radio in childhood and are now well-versed in using Artificial Intelligence.
"Nitin ji has both youthful energy and a great deal of experience," the prime minister said.
