Hitting back at the Congress for its 'compromised PM' jibe, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday launched a blistering attack on the grand old party by raising the “the Nehru-Gandhi family’s compromise story".

The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Tuesday challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to call off the "unfair" India-US trade deal after the US Supreme Court struck down President Donald Trump's global tariffs.

“I can give it in writing, had he (Modi) not been under pressure, he wouldn’t have done it (signed the deal with the US). He has sold India, interests of farmers, textiles and garment sectors, and handed over India’s entire data to the US, just to save his image and political future. But let me tell you all, he won’t get away. No power can save him,” Gandhi said addressing a rally in Bhopal.

Addressing the same Kisan Mahachaupal, Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge compared US President Donald Trump's behaviour -- particularly his disregard for the US Supreme Court’s verdict on tariffs -- with the eighteenth Sultan of Delhi, Muhammad bin Tughluq and drew parallels between PM Modi and German Chancellor Adolf Hitler.

Leading the charge for the saffron party, party chief Nitin Nabin stated that the Nehru-Gandhi family had “always worked to protect its interests" and accused its leaders, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, of collusion with China.

Nabin’s comments come amid a row over the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) workers staging a shirtless protest at the AI Summit in Delhi last week, with the slogan “PM is compromised”, an allusion to the trade deal with the US allegedly under pressure from the Donald Trump administration.

The BJP president also slammed Sonia Gandhi and Rahul and accused the former of acting as a “super PM" when ex-Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s UPA government was in power. He further referred to Rahul Gandhi’s overseas speaking engagements and called him a “puppet of foreign powers".

“I’m sharing with you information about how the Gandhi family’s compromise mission. How the entire family has always protected its interests by compromising with the people of the country," Nabin said.

“There was a time Nehru himself said 45 crore people are a ‘liability for me’ and we all know his relationship with foreign powers. We know how he handed over India’s rights in Tibet to China in 1954," the BJP chief claimed, adding, “And during Indira Gandhi’s tenure, the CIA provided Congress with propaganda money."

Launching a scathing attack on ex-Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, Nabin alleged, “Sonia Gandhi, who became ‘Super PM’ between 2004-14… at the same time, funding for the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation from the Chinese government was provided under the ‘Compromise Mission’."
