West Bengal chief minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee has alleged that the Border Security Force (BSF) is facilitating the entry of infiltrators from Bangladesh into India and is working to destabilise the state.
She further hinted at a "blueprint of the central government" being the driving force behind this behaviour of BSF.
"We have got information that the BSF is letting infiltrators enter India through Islampur, Sitai, Chopra and several other bordering areas. The BSF is also torturing people and trying to destabilise the state," she alleged at an administrative review meeting at the state secretariat, according to a PTI report.
"There is a blueprint of the central government behind this. But goons are entering India. I want peace on both sides of the border. We have a good relationship with neighbouring Bangladesh," she claimed.
Directing DGP Rajeev Kumar to determine where the infiltrators were staying, she said she would write a strongly worded letter to the Centre.
"They (BSF) are trying to hold the Trinamool Congress government responsible for it. I will ask the DGP to find out where these infiltrators are staying after entering the state," she added.
Responding to her allegations, BJP leader Sukanta Majumdar said that she “has reached the ultimate level of delusion”.
“Despite not providing land to set up outposts for border surveillance, she used to blame the Border Security Force for illegal infiltration. But now, crossing all limits of accusations, she has started blaming her own administration’s officials! According to her, the incompetent District Magistrates (DMs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) under her administration are allowing foreign criminals to infiltrate the border to murder the elected representatives of her party,” the Union minister and BJP West Bengal chief said.

Meanwhile, Arvind Kejriwal too questioned the BJP on the issue. He asked, “Is the central government deliberately allowing infiltration from the Bangladesh border or is the BJP government failing to protect the border?”
The allegation made by Banerjee is wrong, defence expert captain Anil Gaur told ANI, as he accused the chief minister of being a "huge facilitator" in settling the illegal infiltrators and Bangladeshis in India and ensuring that they are included in the voter list. "She is alleging that BSF facilitates them, but it is her people who do this... She accuses the forces to appease her voters," he said.
