The BJP is set to power the Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra to a historic victory with a dominant performance in the assembly elections, rewriting the political narrative post-Lok Sabha polls.
Trends show the Mahayuti winning 232 seats in the 288-member assembly, with BJP alone grabbing a lion's share with leads/wins in 134 constituencies.
The saffron party contested a total of 148 seats in the state, which means that if these leads hold, it will log a stellar strike rate of over 90%.

On the other hand, the Maha Vikas Aghadi of Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP (SP) has been relegated to the margins, with leads in just over 50 seats.
The Congress, which was the largest party in the alliance and contested 102 seats, is projected to win just about 16 constituencies.
Notably, BJP has completely decimated Congress in a straight fight by a whopping 65-10. The two parties were locked in a direct contest in 75 seats, mostly in Western Maharashtra and a few seats in the Mumbai region.
Trends show that BJP is set to take 65 if these seats while Congress will win just 10.
In the Vidarbha region, which was once dominated by the Congress, BJP is set to win 38 out of a total 62 seats while Congress is leading in just 9. The BJP had fielded the highest number of candidates in this region.
